Approach
I started Fork Unstable Media in 1996 — before most organizations had a digital strategy, before “user experience” was a job title, before design and technology were considered the same conversation. We figured it out as we went, and three of the works from that period were acquired by SF MoMA for its permanent collection.
What I learned then still holds: the most important skill in any complex initiative is not the ability to generate ideas — it’s the ability to create conditions where the right ideas survive and the wrong ones get cut early.
That’s been the constant across Google, ThoughtWorks, and every advisory engagement since. I work at the intersection of design, technology, and culture not because it’s a niche, but because every meaningful organizational challenge lives there.
I’m based in Hamburg. I work globally.
I take on a small number of engagements each year.
